El Tonayense is selling beans & rice, folks, not drugs.
I seriously suspect that the wide range of nearby neighborhood corner liquor stores (and their junk food) contribute more to student ill health than the Taco Truck. El Tonayense is actually serving FOOD, not processed chemically enhanced crap.
How about investing in health education and phys-ed rather than penalizing a taco truck for student behavior? I can't even tell you how often i ate my lunch from the taco truck while working at 20th & Florida. It's good food. Fresh. And it's affordable. The fact that lots of children and their families live in neighborhoods with no grocery store or produce bodega in this town seems like a much better issue to focus on.
How far do you have to walk to buy a head of lettuce or broccoli?
How far do you have to walk to buy a bag of chips?
Seriously?
